2006 Cutting Edge

Deep purple in colour this wine shows  attractive savoury biscuit, vanilla and spice aromas with a menthol uplift on the nose.

The palate shows huge berry fruit, pepper and cedar spice with a touch of rhubarb.

The persistent length and fine grained juicy tannins ensure this is a wine to be enjoyed over the next 5 –7 years.

The Formby & Adams label reflects the Cabernet Dimension of Brothers in Arms. In 1891 William Formby was among those innovative souls who pioneered viticulture in Langhorne Creek, planting his first 2 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and 2 acres of Shiraz. Today his great, great grandson Guy Adams continues the family’s grape growing traditions, consistently on the “cutting edge”  through a mix of traditional and modern vineyard management and winemaking practices that enable him to produce the best possible wines from this famous vineyard.

"A good winery, a strong wine region, two varieties that
get along famously......why wouldn't it be good? This is
made by Brothers in Arms in Langhorne Creek, a region renowned for full-flavoured, supple reds. It is a 70%-30% blend and has loads of dark fruit - blackberry, dark plum
and dark chocolate, yet it has that hallmark
approachability of Langhorne Creek wines. Good drinking"

“Cutting edge? More a classic Langhorne Creek rendition
of the rockabilly Aussie cabernet-shiraz blend (85%/15%): earthy regional dark fruits, some fresh leaves and mint.
Supple and smooth entry, dark fruit flavours, chocolate
and earthy complexity, it lays up for the finish with fine savoury/tarry tannin.”

"This impressive version of the traditional Aussie blend
of cabernet and shiraz features plenty of red and black
berry fruit with traces of cedar, pepper and sweet spice. Drinking
a treat right now…"
